Friends of School (FOS)

About Friends of School

We are fortunate to have the support of the Friends of School Carlton Miniott (FOS or FOSCM). This is a registered charity ran by a group of volunteer parents and carers who raise funds to pay for extra resources, trips and visits. They also take on the responsibility for the costs of bigger, one-off investment projects at school, such as the recent refurbishment of our library. They do this by organising events and by seeking out ways of raising money via external funding sources, such as commission schemes and grants.

The group welcomes new members throughout the year, either to join the organising committee, or to help as a volunteer at any or all of the events running throughout the year. You can be as involved as you want or are able to be. The Committee typically meets once per half term and splits into smaller groups to organise the details of specific activities outside the meetings.

FOS also produce a termly e-newsletter to keep our school community informed about how funds are being raised and the benefits those funds deliver to our children. Past issues are available at the bottom of the page.
