Year 3 had a super day, full of history, at Richmond Castle.
Last Tuesday Year 3 had a super day full of history. We visited Richmond and explored the ruins of the Norman Richmond Castle. As part of our day, we climbed to the top of the great keep, discovered why the castle was built on this site and had our picnic lunch in the sunny castle grounds. There were some interesting artefacts in the throne room for the children to investigate as well as some medieval costumes to try on too.
Well done to the children who were great enquiry explorers and learned all about when, where and why the castle was built.
